"Moose Cop," my wife sighs, annoyed. "You've talked about Moose Cop before. I don't get it."
My Milk Bone is down there, pick it up.

Even though it's only another 10 minutes home if we are in town for very long, we always stop to let Moose pee in this parking area off the outer road. He's standing there waiting for his papa to get his ramp out so he can get into the truck.

We were going to town yesterday Moose was the first one in the truck of course.

Last night my husband went out to feed Rio one last time, while he was outside, I was at the dining table reading. I heard Moose on the bed going nuts and messing up the comforter. I said: What are you doing in there? He jumped down and came to the doorway panting with a big smile on his face. He's like a little kid sometimes.
View from my dining room window. I do have the best view around.

I'm just a happy puppy dog exploring down in the old junk pit.

#ThrowbackThursday to 2018, Moose walking in our woods when we lived up North. He had that orange scarf on so hunters wouldn't think he was a deer. We had a neighbor that poached our woods and the connecting neighbors woods. We never caught him, but we know he did.

I used to be a glass half full kind of girl. Since moving here I've become a glass 3/4 empty kind of girl. It's hard not to think negative about the farrier coming when we've been disappointed so many times from other farriers.
My husband sent the farriers wife a text asking when we will be put on his schedule. Rio's back feet haven't been trimmed since September due to pain in his hip. His front feet since January. He's cancelled 2x now, and we need to know if he's coming to the house. My husband said he'd offer him more money if he's going to stop traveling. We'd be out ahead due to travel time and gas. We're still waiting to hear back.
#ThrowbackThursday Moose 3/16/2019. He's a happy boy.

He's been too tired to go out grazing so even if he was only out for a little bit, at least he's out.

Can't a horse graze in peace, lady?

The farrier is supposed to come this afternoon. I'm anxious to see if he shows up. He should have been here 2 weeks ago, but his wife (who does his scheduling) said he had 2 cancellations, so she rescheduled us. Of course, no one told us 2 weeks ago, my husband sent her a text. I don't know why he didn't continue to schedule when he was getting paid like before. It's been messed up since she took over. We really don't want to trailer Rio that far to get trimmed.
I explained to Rio that today is the day we go grocery shopping for us and him. I let him know we'll be gone a while, but we'll be back as soon as we can. He listens very carefully, he's like a child and needs to know what's going on.
When I'm feeding Rio in the morning and my husband comes back from walking Moose, Rio has a look of contentment that we are both with him. Sammie was the same way and so is Moose. I think it's because we were both there when we rescued them. He feels loved and knows he's taken care of.
Yesterday one of the other neighbors cow was walking down our road, Moose chased it back into its own pasture. He makes a great ranch dog. The poor baby was pooped all day after that. He is 11 after all. But he had so much fun doing it.
