Nasa names first woman and black man on Moon mission.

NASA on Monday announced the crew of Artemis II, four astronauts who will head to the moon within the next two years. The crew will travel around the moon and back on a 10-day mission.

The crew of three Americans and one Canadian will be the first humans to fly toward the moon in more than 50 years. They are: Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Reid Wiseman of NASA, and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency. Glover, the first Black man assigned as a crew member on the International Space Station, will serve as the mission's pilot. Koch, who holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, will serve as a mission specialist. Wiseman, who served as NASA's chief astronaut, will be the commander. Hansen, one of four active Canadian astronauts, will also serve as a mission specialist

Marital rape could become illegal in Mississippi under a new bill that clarifies the definition of rape.

State law currently defines rape as the "ravishing any
female of previous chaste character"; the new bill would define rape far more explicitly.

It would also require a medical facility conducting forensic examination and preparing the sexual-assault evidence collection kit to inform a law enforcement agency for retrieval within four hours. Then, after receiving a call from a medical facility, the law enforcement agency would have 24 hours to obtain the kit, with the option to refrigerate it within two hours or to transport it immediately to the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory.

Yes, what ur thinking right now is right.
Previously the law only defined only rape of 'virgins' as rape.
Very progressive don't u think?

In Germany, Nazi leader Adolf Hitler orders a bloody purge of his own political party, assassinating hundreds of Nazis whom he believed had the potential to become political enemies in the future. The leadership of the Nazi Storm Troopers (SA), whose four million members had helped bring Hitler to power in the early 1930s, was especially targeted. Hitler feared that some of his followers had taken his early “National Socialism” propaganda too seriously and thus might compromise his plan to suppress workers’ rights in exchange for German industry making the country war-ready.

Alan Turing was a British mathematician, computer scientist, and logician who is widely considered to be one of the most influential figures in the history of computing. In 1936, he published a paper that introduced the concept of a universal Turing machine, which is a theoretical machine that can perform any computation that any other computing machine can perform. This concept laid the foundation for modern computer science and the development of electronic computers. During World War II, Turing worked at Bletchley Park, where he helped crack German codes using the Enigma machine. This work is estimated to have shortened the war in Europe by at least two years and saved countless lives. After the war, Turing continued to work on the development of electronic computers and contributed to the field of artificial intelligence.

Despite his significant contributions to science and technology, Turing faced significant personal troubles. In 1952, he was convicted of homosexuality, which was illegal in the UK at the time. He was given the choice of imprisonment or chemical castration, and he chose the latter. The hormone treatments that Turing received had severe side effects and caused him great distress. In 1954, Turing died by suicide at the age of 41. It wasn't until decades later that his contributions were widely recognized and he was posthumously pardoned for his conviction. Turing's life and legacy continue to inspire generations of scientists and computer scientists, and his contributions have had a profound impact on modern society.

Homosexuality is forbidden in Malaysia and laws criminalising sodomy can result in imprisonment, corporal punishment and fines.

The previous mentioned gender diverse videos r being tried under this law :

Section 233(2) prohibits knowingly using a network service or applications service to provide “obscene” communication to a person for commercial purposes or permitting a “network service or applications service under the person's control” to be used for that purpose. Ostensibly, this is an anti-pornography provision.

Executive Order 9066 was a United States presidential executive order signed and issued during World War II by United States president Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 19, 1942. "This order authorized the force removal of all persons deemed a threat to national security from the West Coast to "relocation centers" further inland- resulting in the incarceration of Japanese Americans." Two-thirds of them were U.S. citizens, born and raised in the United States.

Korematsu v. United States, 323 U.S. 214 (1944), was a landmark decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to uphold the exclusion of Japanese Americans from the West Coast Military Area during World War II. The decision has been widely criticized, with some scholars describing it as "an odious and discredited artifact of popular bigotry", and as "a stain on American jurisprudence". The case is often cited as one of the worst Supreme Court decisions of all time.

MRNA was discovered in the early 1960's, John Hopkins states. Some were used to fight the Ebola virus. Researchers are also currently working to use mRNA to prevent other respiratory viruses.

According to the National Cancer Institute, mRNA vaccines are being studied to treat people with various types of cancer. The research that was done to treat people with cancer before the pandemic struck helped spearhead the COVID vaccine, the NCI says.

The legislation, S.B. 199, introduced in the Arkansas Senate this month, would prohibit physicians in the state from providing most types of gender-affirming care to minors, including prescribing puberty blockers or hormone replacement therapy, or from performing transition-related surgeries.

It would also allow anyone in the state who has received gender-affirming care as a minor to file a malpractice lawsuit against physicians for up to 30 years after they turn 18.

More than a dozen major medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Psychological Association, support the treatments that would be barred if the bill becomes law.

In 2021, Arkansas became the first state to ban gender-affirming care for minors, but a federal judge temporarily blocked the law. The 2021 legislation largely mirrors the bill introduced this year.

Five other states have enacted similar forms of the legislation, including South Dakota, whose governor signed a measure into law on Monday.

Organ damage for 59% of patients with long COVID continues a year after initial symptoms

A new comprehensive study of organ impairment in long COVID patients over twelve months shows organ damage persisted in 59% of patients a year after initial symptoms, even in those not severely affected when first diagnosed with the virus.

The study, published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, focused on patients reporting extreme breathlessness, cognitive dysfunction and poor health-related quality of life. 536 long COVID patients were included in the study. 13% were hospitalised when first diagnosed with COVID-19. 32% of people taking part in the study were healthcare workers.

"Testing of this theory in 1963 found that 70 percent of the time, the urine of pregnant women did promote growth, while the urine of non-pregnant women and men did not. Scholars have identified this as perhaps the first test to detect a unique substance in the urine of pregnant women, and have speculated that elevated levels of estrogens in pregnant women’s urine may have been the key to its success

@TheUSASingers Yo don't forget the babies.

It's perfectly fine for a 10-year-old to give birth to a kid she doesn't want

Edit : Republican-controlled Missouri House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to reject an amendment that would have banned minors from being allowed to openly carry guns on public land without adult supervision.Which, thanks to a 2017 law, they are currently free to do.

Women in Iran are required to wear headscarves in public, even when abroad. But a few are choosing not to, in support of the women and girls spearheading the protests inside the country, following the death in custody of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in September. One of them, the climber Elnaz Rekabi, was forced to recant and it is unclear what her situation is, now that she is back in Iran.

Willis’ office got court approval for the special grand jury investigation last January and impaneled the actual jury in May.

The probe stems in large part from a phone call Trump held with Raffensperger on Jan. 3, 2021, asking him to locate more than additional 11,000 votes for Trump so that he could be deemed the victor over Joe Biden in the state. Raffensperger and other state officials repeatedly told Trump they’d looked into allegations he’d made of fraud and hidden stashes ballots, but found nothing to support them.

While the Georgia officials stood firm, a recording of the call indicates Trump continued to press, largely ignoring their explanations.

But the probe significantly broadened over time to focus on Trump’s larger effort to subvert the 2020 election, in part by pushing allies in several states to deliver false sets of presidential electors to Washington.

Many legal analysts have said the call could amount to an illegal attempt to tamper with the election results, although Trump has described the call as “perfect.” The special grand jury also explored efforts other Trump supporters made to urge recounts or decertification of the election results in the days before Congress met to tally the electoral votes on Jan. 6, 2021.

Under Georgia law, special grand juries cannot return indictments, but their results can be used by prosecutors to take a case before a regular grand jury to seek criminal charges.

CTE found in nearly 92% of former players studied by Boston University

BOSTON - Researchers at Boston University on Monday reported finding in 345 of the 376 former NFL players they have studied so far.

The school's CTE center said the 91.7% occurrence rate of CTE in ex-NFL players is a sharp contrast with the "extremely low population rate" of chronic traumatic encephalopathy in the general public. A 2018 study of brains donated to the Framingham Heart Study detected CTE in only 1 of 164 samples - the sole case belonged to a former college football player.

BU scientists say "repetitive head impacts" are believed to be the top risk factor for CTE, which is a degenerative brain disease.

The researchers caution that there are selection biases in the brain bank used for the , and people shouldn't assume that nearly 92% of all current and former NFL players have CTE.

A CTE diagnosis can only be confirmed after death.
