My contribution to the proceedings of #Moriond is out: https://arxiv.org/abs/2304.09482
Please share widely! I do really think that this might be a big deal! If you are skeptical, which is normal and welcome, please do not hesitate to invite me to give a remote talk on the subject! :) People tend to be more enthusiast after hearing my talks.
The deadline to send the document to the organizers is May 15th. So please don't hesitate to send comments to me, if possible before May 15th! :)
Much like the winding fjords of Norway and the Mandelbrot set, the interactions of quarks and gluons give rise to the tiniest fractals in #nature jets within jets within jets…Find out! https://cms.cern/news/fractal-tree-quarks-and-gluons #moriond
Where did all the #antimatter go?
A new @ATLASexperiment study shown at #moriond probes the fundamental symmetries of nature with the Higgs boson – looking for the violation of charge-parity (CP) symmetry, which could explain the excess of matter in the Universe! Learn more ⤵️
What if proposed new particles are more massive than what the LHC can produce? 🤔
A quirk of quantum field theory may allow us to still detect their telltale signatures. CMS is on the hunt using a framework known as Effective Field Theory (EFT).

Last week, during the #Moriond conference, the @ATLASexperiment at CERN released a new measurement of the #Wboson mass. But what does this mean and why does it matter? Find out! 👇 (1/7)

Another top result! ATLAS has just released the most precise measurement to date of top-quark-pair production. 🎇
This result showcases the LHC’s strength as a precision machine – achieving results well beyond what was deemed possible at a hadron collider. #moriond
The ATLAS Collaboration has released the most detailed analysis to date of top-quark pairs produced alongside a W boson (ttW)! #moriond
Previous measurements found an over-abundance of ttW events compared to theory predictions. Today's result confirms this mild tension. ⤵️

Today at the #Moriond conference, the @ATLASexperiment & @CMSexperiment have both reported the observation of a rare phenomenon: the simultaneous production of four top quarks, which could hold the key to physics beyond the #StandardModel.

Top quarks have been observed to play in quartet! 🤩
This marks the first observation by CMS of the simultaneous production of four top quarks, opening the door to new and exciting physics.

#Moriond quote of the day: "When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is probably wrong". (Attributed to Arthur C. Clarke)

New ATLAS result on the W mass! This is an improved reanalysis of the 7 TeV dataset. #notthatheavy #moriond https://atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/GROUPS/PHYSICS/CONFNOTES/ATLAS-CONF-2023-004/
The ATLAS Collaboration has released a precise new measurement of the Z-boson transverse momentum. This allowed researchers to determine the strength of the strong force! #moriond

A charming tetra-quarks family: the CMS Collaboration has seen three states seemingly composed of two charm quark-antiquark pairs: another piece in the hadron formation puzzle. Quarks usually bind together as quark-antiquark pairs (mesons) or as quark triplets (baryons) but other “exotic” hadrons have been seen, such as tetra-quarks. Seeing a whole family of charm-only tetra-quarks is really exceptional. Read more: https://cms.cern/news/cms-observes-potential-family-tetra-quark-states-composed-only-charm-quarks
The search for #leptoquarks reaches new limits! 🎆
The ATLAS Collaboration has released an impressive set of searches for leptoquarks interacting with third-generation particles. #moriond

The ATLAS Collaboration has released two new studies of the tau lepton, investigating whether this elementary particle may actually be composite in nature. #moriond

New ATLAS results are here! #moriond 🥳
Over the next few days, we'll be giving you a close-up look at some of these results. In the meantime you can already find some very exciting ones on our website 👀: https://atlas.cern/Updates/News/summary-winter-conferences-2023
CMS physicists recently completed the first search, at the LHC, for “inelastic dark matter”, looking for muon pairs produced far away from the proton-proton collision point, as if they popped out of thin air.
