Why does RTE radio news bother doing live phone interviews? Constantly dropping calls… just pre-record please!
Conor Faughnan on #MorningIreland says he's not convinced we need new laws to improve road safety and is lukewarm about the idea of higher penalties for those who commit multiple offences. He's also not convinced about lower speed limits.
And he doesn't think we have too many cars on the road from a road safety point of view.
How does this guy continue to get the opportunity to spread these damaging views in the media? #RoadSafety
Fair play to Gavin Jennings on #MorningIreland earlier, who opened his conversation about LC grade inflation with Education Correspondent Emma O’Kelly with “So, Emma: inflation once again”. 😀
"Traffic growing on the Grand Canal eastbound from Harold's Cross, and in Galway, traffic is heavy on the Parkmore Road approaching the Parkmore Roundabout"
Is there any more pointless broadcast than the traffic report on #MorningIreland?
@sinabhfuil And it got read out in "It Says In The Papers" on #morningIreland! https://www.rte.ie/radio/radio1/clips/22252636/
(it's the last piece in the clip)
I can't believe it's Panic About Windows 7 week already. The year is flying. #MorningIreland
I'm not claiming to be an expert in U.S. politics, but this morning's internal scream/woman yells at sky moment comes courtesy of Morning Ireland's assertion that Trump came up with the term 'RINO'. Pals, that's been around long before him. If RTE is going to cover US politics as much as they do, at the very least they should employ a researcher who might actually know something about it.
Yes, I realise this is incredibly small potatoes. But it's a trend!

Yet again this morning, #Galway is noticeably absent from the traffic report on #MorningIreland

It was mentioned in the business news on #MorningIreland that Bord Gáis have said its profits were reinvested into areas like customer service. Recent experience tells me that that hasn't included their support over email. I'd swear they have that outsourced to people who only have a vague idea of how Bord Gáis operates.
Simon Harris there on #MorningIreland beginning an answer with "What I'm saying very clearly is..", which of course always means "I'm very clear in my determination to side-step the question you just asked".
Kenny Deery, CEO of Galway Chamber, on #MorningIreland telling the nation that building an 18km ring road is essential to achieving a low-carbon future and will take cars out of the city.
He either hasn't read the planning application documents or he is deliberately misleading people.
The road, if it is ever built, would increase carbon emissions and would increase car traffic.
The motor industry guy on #MorningIreland talking about the need for Celtic Tiger-level consumption of new cars to reach the target of one third of cars being EVs by 2030.
I don't suppose he'd entertain the thought that we could just have fewer cars?
This stock trading piece on #MorningIreland is a big old gambling ad. Pure and simple.
According to #rte #MorningIreland there are "fears of contagion" in the cryptocurrency market. I presume they mean fears that my sides may split
Good to hear discussion of Mastodon.ie on #MorningIreland. Bernard McKeever on growth of users from 300 to 15000.,Karlin Lillimgton hopeful this platform will prosper. Cheering news on a chilly morning in Dublin.
Someone on #MorningIreland just now saying #Mastodon will find it hard to replicate the success of #Twitter. I reckon that's the sound of a point being missed.
#morningIreland #mastodon #twitter
Mastodon on #rte #MorningIreland 👏 #Mastodaoine

@davey_cakes Well, did mastodon.ie feature on #morningireland ?
Interested people need to know, for... erm... science?
#morningIreland why do the Met Eireann guys always tell us they're in Glasnevin?
It seems like such an odd flex.
