Kürzlich haben wir Mothership von Tuesday Knight Games gespielt. Ich hatte das Rollenspiel schon länger auf dem Schirm und die SL unserer Black Wyrm of Brandonsford-Gruppe bot Mothership an, weil einer aus unserer Runde an dem Tag nicht konnte. Es war klaustrophobisch, retro, dreckig und ziemlich geil.

#Mothership war so super. Wir sind erst so halb oder so durch das Modul.

Der Figurenbogen mit seinem Flussdiagramm ist sehr gut und die Mechaniken haben mir gut gefallen. Sehr krass war eine Situation, in der die Figur von @Morgunin den Sprungantrieb der „Alphane Moon“ deaktivieren musste, damit er uns nicht auf der Stelle tötete. Der eine Wurf klappte nicht, wodurch sich mehr Stress aufbaute. Hat aber letztlich geklappt, puuuhh!

Heute Abend spielen wir nicht #TheBlackWyrmOfBrandonsford, sondern #Mothership!

Uns werdet ihr auch im All schreien hören.

Space horror, but hey, that’s still horror!

I love love how easy it is to bang out a character. A few rolls, a few choices, a name, and you’re done.

I gotta say, the #IlluminatedWorlds system just doesn't grab me.

Maybe because all we have so far is an introductory guide, so I can't really explore it fully.

But it seems like it's still a quite deadly game without leaning in to it, like #CallOfCthulhu or #Mothership do.

And the built-in world doesn't make me want to play in it.

Day 25 "Unplayed RPG you own"

Hoo boy. I got a whole bunch of them - even if I don't include PDFs.

I'd like to try running #Mothership, #Mouseritter, and #FrontierScum. I actually had the PDFs printed, that's how much I'm impressed!

I also own several beautiful RPG books by @modiphius, like #Fallout RPG and core books for #AchtungCthulhu. I'm still not sure about the 2d20 system - it seems like the basic mechanic is needlessly complicated? - but this makes me more eager to try them one day.

This one is hard. Decades ago, #Paizo and #WotC books set my standards for how should interior book art look like.

However, #OSR books blew up my expectations about the quality of art, readability and layout.

#OldSchoolEssentials has amazing, compact, and practical layout. #Mothership even more so. #PirateBorg looks like a graphic novel based off a video game. #FrontierScum mimics the style of old-timey newspaper. They're amazing.

#RPGaDAY2023 Day 26: Favourite character sheet. It's not a game I've got to play (yet), but the character sheet for #Mothership is beautifully put together, with all the info you need right where you'd want it.

The #Mothership one-shot is based on the terrific adventure we had in our Star Wars game, totally haunted ship horror worthy of Mothership, but with our existing campaign characters. It was *so* scary and so much fun!

So I'm hoping to recreate some of that in Mothership, though I did *not* leave myself enough time to prepare. Improvisation, it is!

This weekend is *much* lighter on the #TTRPG than last weekend was. No regularly scheduled games at all, some just because they're not weekly, and my one weekly one because it's canceled this week. 😢
