Cleaning up the backyard now that temperatures have soared into the upper 50s F/15 C, and I noticed that the snow cover evidently protected these volunteer (invasive) motherwort plants (Leonurus cardiaca) from the bitter cold of -7 F/-22 C of just one week ago.
