Plenty of egg box roosting in the moth trap overnight. Catalogued, photographed and safely released to carry on their mothy business. Some of the nicer ones included:

Spotted this virgin tiger moth hanging out. Their caterpillars are adorable fuzzy guys and the hind wings on the adults are often a beautiful rose or orange color.

1) Iridopsis emasculatum
Range:
British Columbia south to northern California, Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas.
Food:
Larval hosts are woody plants; alder, maple, willow, and blueberry.
2) Brown-lined Looper (Neoalcis californiaria)
Range:
Southern California to coastal British Columbia.
Food:
Larvae feed mainly on Douglas-Fir.
