@Hawkwinter yeah but an A/C - even a tiny one - is quite heavy so the best option would be to use existing parts for #Microcars, #Scooters and #Motorcycles, only nerfing the output at the wheels to comply with regulatory restrictions...

Personally I'd love to see one using like a methanol fuel cell for absurdly high range, low consumption and acceptable price...

But I'd also not be surprised if the cheapest option is like a 50cm³ two-stroke with integrated mixing unit to make it a scooter.

Took the Grom out for a spin. It feels so different now after riding the Rally almost exclusively since buying it last month.

The Grom makes me feel like a gorilla on a child's bike. It's *so* small. And gutless. Very smooth clutch and engine though.

The suspension is awful. Every single bump in the road gets transferred into the handlebars. I used to think the Grom was smoother since its engine vibrates less, but it's definitely less comfortable.

Still fun though!

Oof, the BMW F800 GS now requires 95 RON (super unleaded), up from 91 compared to the F750 GS.

That's a shame. I like my cheap fuel, and 95 RON is a bit harder to come by in the Outback.

Then again, what does "cheap" even mean when even 91 RON is now exceeding $2 AUD/L?

One of the best things about upgrading from the Grom to the CRF300 Rally is that I can actually lane filter now (which is legal in Australia).

I'd still do it from time to time on the Grom, but I had to select my opportunities very carefully because it simply doesn't have the torque or power to pull away safely if cars want to try and race you.

But the Rally does. Safe filtering is a game changer. There's nothing like cutting the queue on the way to work.

@PatrickRerat weird that they didn't use #Motorcycles like my hometown for that role...

I might've improved/fixed my motorcycle hand fatigue by accident.

My gloves got a hole in them, so I bought a new pair with much more leather, and thicker too. I can feel an immediate difference when riding.

First, I'm feeling far fewer vibrations through the thicker leather.

Second, they feel stickier, and require less grip to hold the throttle open.

Just had a 70 km ride through highways, backroads, and gravel, and my hands feel great compared to the old gloves.

Someone asked for a picture of my Grom and I came across this beauty that I wanted to share. For my 30th birthday my wife made these birthday cupcakes.

She didn't just make the cupcakes. The motorcycle and "30" are edible chocolate made from molds and custom painted by her. Yes, that silver exhaust is chocolate coated in edible paint. Very cool.

The cupcake itself is vanilla cake with a chocolate ganache frosting. 😁

This might be a controversial take, but more motorcycles should have cruise control - at least as an option. It's a shame that it's reserved for "big" bikes.

Here in Australia, the only learner-legal motorcycles with cruise control are maxi-scooters. 🛵

Throttle locks just aren't the same.
