Personally, I'd refuse to use #dooringzone strips most streets in #Germany have because they only invite #car drivers to exercise #MotorizedViolence and commit illegally tight overtake maneuvers.

After all, those strips are too narrow to be legally useable [minimum distance to curbstone is 80cm - measured from edge of steering arm.

That's why I consequently drive on the left half of a lane if on two weels and refuse to take over a cyclist if that would not be safe!

@marta What I despise are #superUselessVehicle|s that are some "#crossover" shit that is neither good on roads nor good offroads and that solely is #MotorizedViolence against pedestrians and cyclists.

Tho I doubt that such a ban would ever come outside of general traffic bans for non-residents, which already work and exist in a lot of places.

@foxhkron You mean #SuperUselessVehicles since almost noone uses them for hauling actual freight or even shunting trailers in a freight terminal...

The only cases I didn't find them #cringe was when a countryside vet uses them to haul horse trailers across unpaved roads or similar uses, but those are more of the exception than norm.

The #FatteningOfCars and increased #MotorizedViolence are just bad - period.

It is totally clear to me that there are several differences. For me the most obvious one is, that at the train station you have plenty of room to keep away from the dangerous zone. As a cyclists on a cycling lane like the one shown above you have not. In fact you are even forced into it. #dooring #motorizedViolence @musicmatze @pinkprius @mastobikes
