#scientists previously believed silent synapses were only present during early development; however, #mousemodel research found that about 30% of all synapses in the cortex are silent.

With new data analysis coming out showing 4 main subtypes of #longcovid, we're always here to help #mousemodel development to address these areas specifically.
Meet Dr Emily Warren, 1st author of new #OpenAccess paper from Dr Eric Morrow's lab at #BrownUniversity
They developed the 1st lab model of 17q12 deletion syndrome, a copy number variant disorder associated with #neurodevelopmental disorders and #RenalCysts and #diabetes syndrome. The #MouseModel recapitulated many features of the human disorder & will be used to guide #clinical & #mechanistic studies

#introduction I am Peggy Wei, an #NewPI (3 years old) at #DKFZ . I am also a mother with two children, and a cooking lover. We use #omics and #mousemodel to understand genome integrity and somatic mosaicism in the developing #brain. Other interests include but not limited to #neuropsychiatric disorders , #cancer origin, DNA #replication, #CNV, and #singlemolecule view of DNA damage. I transferred from the other server (@braingenome@scicomm.xyz) because I feel closer to genomics.

Hi #ScienceMastodon - my lab's most recent findings just hit preprint here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022202X22018887?via%3Dihub
We discovered a #mousemodel for examining #cSCC where #mice with epidermal deficiency of #KDM6A and #P53 show 100% penetrant, spontaneous cSCC development within a year!
#dermatology and #skincancer have very few models to study cSCC in mice and our lab found one!
