Cinema history will show 2022 releases as the nadir of filmmaking. Zoom calls featuring IT morons, monologues directed at an unseen person, conversations outdoors at 6 feet distance. Or the post lockdown, "covid is over because the law says it is, so let's go back to normal" cinema school of denial. I get triggered watching these claustrophobic homages to lockdown, but the maskless, crowd surfing, post-covid fantasies that ignore reality are just as bad. #CovidIsntOver #Movies2022

Just got round to watching "My Policeman", and I have to be honest I'm struggling to see what all the hype is about. Just all felt a little dull and predictable. The last few minutes with the older characters were quite touching, but Harry Styles, try as he might, appears to have the acting chops of a garden shed.

Went to watch #Avatar: The Way of the Water and have to agree that it seems to be better with fans than critics, who have widely panned it.

For one, director James Cameron is clearly creating a beautiful universe, and you feel invested in the characters and their environment. And it builds upon the magic of the first film. Whilst the general good vs evil is wearing thin, it's still spectacular to watch.
