“Rapscallions”
Under a bridge, near an abandoned workhouse, live a gang of urchins and waifs, clad in rags. The youngest is only five, the oldest a girl of fourteen, but they are all experienced theives and pickpockets, and used to living by their wits.
One day, as chance would have it, a respectable and unworldly adult who is down on his luck, is taken in by the youthful gang of rapscallions. The children undertake to teach this bumbling newcomer some useful housebreaking skills, and a few life lessons about love and the real meaning of family.
