I just rewatched #12Monkeys – for the first time in HD, if I'm not mistaken. A #movie I've been calling one of my all-time favorites for a long time, but I probably haven't watched it in a decade.

Phew. It holds up extremely well. And I'm convinced it's not just nostalgia. The direction. The great cast (many of them I only recognize today). The motifs, of course. That ending. Fantastic!

That was totally worth a rewatch ♥️

I don't normally do #moviereviews but I was pleasantly surprised by #Jules. It's a gentle film that's more about the vestiges of aging than about an alien landing on earth. The #benkingsley character reminded me of my father as he neared the end, unshaven and occasionally forgetful. And it's unusual to also have two lead roles for older women. A breath of fresh air from all the superhero and gaming movies.

I realise this is slightly weird but during Barbie I was thinking “America Ferrara has the most beautiful eyebrows”.

Obviously her eyebrows are shaped professionally but it's not just that, it's the perfect curves they form when she frowns or squints.

It's not a thing I normally notice, but there's probably a subreddit full of fetishists for this isn't there?

I'm late to the party but I saw Barbie yesterday and … it was very weird. And I say that as a guy who's seen a lot of weird movies.

The fact that a movie this strange is a billion-dollar success and part of such intense public discourse—and that Greta Gerwig (and Noah Baumbach?) will presumably earn multiple millions of dollars from it—makes me really happy.

Went to the movies last night, just for fun. Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning {part the first}. Two and a half hours long.

Bloody heck. A marvellously crafted hugely enjoyable adventure romp that did not let up from the second it started.

Every scene was so tightly executed, and in places laugh out loud funny. We didn't even notice the time flying by.

Very interesting topic for "Big Bad" though.
