Anyone know of any handy online tools or simple checklists to keep a residential move in the USA nice and organized? Like tracking what utilities I've called to transfer.

The selling of our house has been a crazy ride and now it finally looks like it's moving forward which means closing day and moving day are fast approaching. I now feel like I'm behind in everything I need to get done and there just isn't room in my brain to keep track of everything.

It has been a WEEK... both figuratively AND literally. I wasn't 200 miles into my move on Monday, and my brand new moving truck and trailer had a blowout on I-80. I waited in the middle of nowhere from 6pm to midnight for 2 tow trucks, which added a day to the move. The good news: I made it to Billings Thursday afternoon and to work at KTVQ Friday morning! WHEW! The moral of the story: remember to get the insurance!

I've done the same thing but, even though I could save a lot of $ living elsewhere, all of the other places that I've considered/discoveed are way too "red" and lacking in anything of interest culturally. So, I'm stuck in the SFBA which is fine because unlike millions of others who moved here to live, I was born & raised here. 😉

Why can't I remember how much moving sucks when you do it yourself?

Even though I'm probably more in shape now than I've ever been, I'm still only a couple of years from 50 - it's time for this stuff to be handled by younger folks.

We moved into my mother-in-law's house for about a month. Then it's off to to travel the U.S. for probably around 9 months in our RV.

Life is good... the moving process definitely is not.
