Procrastination pays off again! A new #HiFi portable music player with #HibyOS was released.

My main gripe with companies like this is that they poop out hardware and never keep the software up-to-date. These do have WiFi and BT, along with a few applications for streaming services. Thus, they are potentially volunerable.

They are seriously still selling an older model with #android 8. Shame.

That's why I figure a stripped down #Linux distro can't be as bad.

#1963 war ein wichtiges #Datum für mobilen Musikgenuß. Ich konnte nie viel mit #Kompaktkassetten anfangen. Der #Klang ist einfach zu schlecht. Mit dem #Discman kam für mich keine spürbare Besserung. Die Dinger springen zu gerne. Erst mit der #Minidisc war ich einigermaßen #zufrieden. Klanglich deutlich besser als die #MP3Player die es damals gab. Heute geht #Audiophil auch #mobil. Und das sogar SEHR #bezahlbar!

Versuche gerade meinen alten #Mp3Player zu ersetzen, der den Geist aufgegeben hat. Stellt sich raus der wird nicht mehr hergestellt, das Modell ist von 2005. Weiß jemand einen guten mp3 player mit 32 GB, langer Akkulaufzeit >15h und der sich merkt wo man im Hörbuch war? #Followerpower

Something that we've seemingly missed out on: desktop/bookshelf MP3 players.

That plays local media (internal storage, external flash, or network), sits on a shelf, has a colorful screen, physical play controls, and crucially, not expected to run on a rechargeable battery that becomes a spicy pillow before any other component in the player fails.

At least, I'm having no luck finding such a thing. Open to suggestions though.

My #zunehd has been my lifeline in terms of sensory control. #music & #podcasts have been my only way of surviving the noise of the outside world for most of my life. I've yet to meet another #mp3player that comes close to matching my Zune in terms of accessibility.

I really liking this thing so far. I really love that it has a MicroSD card slot and a replacable AAA battery.

Which means expandable storage and not have to wait until the darn thing is recharged, just pop in a new battery when its dead.

Our #ObjectOfTheWeek is a #NewAcquisition: The 2nd MP3 Player in the World, the Diamond Rio PMP300 (Sept 1998, after S.Korea’s MPMan in March) – the 1st commercially successful MP3 player.

The Rio provoked the 1st RIAA’s lawsuit trying to kill MP3s (they lost bc their suit was based on the misunderstanding that the Rio was a recording device).

Even after 25 years, our Rio still plays the (terrible) files on its built-in 32MB storage.

I'm going to dub this the #CDChallenge. Whereby you thrift and/or collect #CDs until you have recreated your collection from 2010.

Each CD can be added to an #mp3Player,

But the catch is that you MUST listen to each track from a CD on your mp3 player before you can add another CD to your mp3 player.

If you have iTunes, it keeps track of your play count. You know, to keep you honest ;)

Heute kam ich wieder ein bisschen zum #basteln. Die Infrastruktur um die #t0nybox ist etwas ausgebaut und die erste Karte in der Version 1 (locked #QR) ist fertig. Die Karten werden nun nach Aufnahme in die Kartenverwaltung freigeschalten.

Kleinere Optimierung: #sshfs wird nun per #autofs on #demand gemounted. Timeout: 3600 Sekunden. Das wird etwas Last vom Filer nehmen, wenn der Prototyp nicht mehr alleine ist. :-)
