As much as people rail against the #MPAA ratings, I really wish there was some way to rate #books in a similar way, or some way I could find out if they contain sex/violence/swearing and to what extent without just rolling the dice. Especially since I enjoy mysteries but am pretty squeamish. I tend to go for #YA stuff because it is usually at my level of clean, but it also means I don’t read many stories with main characters my age.

I'm old enough to remember when the #MPAA was the terror of the Internet.

Today, it looks like the Big Tech companies are deliberately mocking the movie business, by putting brand ads on obvious pirate sites. Even a movie pirate site that is bad at #CSS can earn ad revenue from Internet advertising's "non-transparent practices" (#crime) (see screenshot)

Maybe some decision makers at the big companies are long-time @pluralistic fans?
