It bears repeating that the #Minneapolis city council president is a #Black #trans woman who in her first campaign for council specifically ran on a housing justice platform. In the meantime, she navigated the political turmoil after the #MPD murdered #GeorgeFloyd by joining the reactionary backlash against the #Defund movement (such as it was) because it had hurt her feelings by challenging her commitment to racial justice. She ran for re-election in 2021 on a cop- and capital-friendly law-and-order platform (and is doing so again this year).

Fuck #AndreaJenkins. This is the liberal weaponization of identity at its finest, and she made a choice to participate. Absolutely cynical and an utter embarrassment.

She could have stopped this vote but she didn't.

John Myles is on a city coordinated team compromised of people from the City (Regulatory, Public Works, CPED, #MPD, and mayors office) as well as MNDOT, Metro Transit, and Parks.

This is the kind of behavior #Minneapolis city leadership directly cultivates. Threats toward unhoused people that have nothing to do with their work and threats toward people like me who ask them to respect fundamental human rights.

This camp is, again, on railroad land. John, of #Minneapolis Parks & Rec, said they would be clearing a camp near Bryn Mawr Meadows that was abandoned last month when #MPD officers falsely made the same claim. John, a remorseless tool who would not give his last name, said that they'd be bringing railroad people with them, and he would be telling the railroad about this tiny camp.

"On Friday, the department released a blistering report showing that for years, the Minneapolis police have discriminated against Native Americans as well as Black residents, creating the conditions that led to Floyd’s death. The police are much more likely to stop and search people from both minority groups, the feds found, and to use force against them—especially in certain neighborhoods: In the Third Precinct, where many Native Americans live, the cops used force 69 percent more often during stops with Native Americans than in similar stops with white people from 2020 to 2022. They were 49 percent more likely to use force against Black people in the area."
