Und noch einmal #MPV: Spiele immer wieder Musik via mpv auf einer Konsole.

Wenn ich dann zwischendrin mal was anderes schauen will, muss ich erst auf die Konsole wechseln und pausieren.

Dabei gibt es doch #MPRIS (Media Player Remote Interfacing Specification), das via #DBus auf Dinge reagiert, sodass man z. B. #Audacious per Multimedia-Tasten der Tastatur steuern kann.

Und siehe da, es gibt mpv-mpris, ein Plugin, was genau das ermöglicht.

It wasn't easy because I had to learn #GStreamer concepts which are kinda unique.

You can also view the queue, lyrics and it can restore state after restart. Next step will be adding #MPRIS support.

2. Library view. Grid or List view, you choose!

@nekothegamer Well it's not a bug at GNOME's side. It's something on the side of apps you use. Seems like some app is opening an #MPRIS interface on #DBus but it's not closing it when it is expected to close it. You may use some dbus inspector tool to check which of the app is doing that.

After #webkit-gtk upgrade to 2.38.5 the annoying #mpris bug is gone and I have added mack the #Mastodon "tab" to Tangram. Then, I added a few more and it really starts to show the power of alternative browsers.
That said it seems like an alternative browser does not have to implement all the shiny new features commonly found in #Chromium of #FireFox but innovate.

Myuzi is a great, little music player for Linux. It streams just the sound from just music on YouTube, making it a perfect, simple FOSS alternative to Spotify. The dev is really nice and extremely responsive when there's a bug or a request!

But they can't seem to get their head around how to implement MPRIS support, so the app can't be controlled via media controls on the keyboard, etc.

I was looking for a way to replace the default Spotify client on linux for a long time. This week I had a ticket on #mpris-scrobbler - my last.fm, libre.fm, listenbrainz.org track submitter daemon - mentioning ncspot[1].

It is the best linux client for Spotify by far. The fact that it has a TUI interface is the best part.
