LOL:
```But the mptcpize (LD_PRELOAD technique) command has some limitations […]
- it is not in #BPF, we cannot talk about it at netdev conf. […]```
/me wonders what this kind of argument should be called; "appeal to cool technology" maybe?
Internet at home is limited, since I live in a rural area of the US.
I have Starlink, which often has ~1 second interruptions even without obstructions. I also have 5G thanks to @calyxinstitute, but I'm far from the tower. And I also use a local provider via microwave.
This week I setup a #MPTCP (Multi Path TCP) router at home, connected to a VPS in SF. I was able to get some good speeds (72⬇ 28⬆) for the first time since I've moved here.
The #Querfunk.de audio live stream supports #MPTCP to serve non-disruptive listening experience even if you move from one network to another. Just #Android and #iOS and the streaming apps need to catch up with MPTCP now. #Google, can you enable MPTCP for clients please? The Linux allows this since Kerne reeasel 5.6...
@monsieuricon thank you for working on that! It is very helpful and avoid mistakes when sending them!
Sending patches is one thing but it would be nice to have some guidances about how to write a commit msg and run `checkpatch.pl` for example.
And ideally guide users on how to validate the modifications. Virtme is often helpful, we packaged it in a docker image with other tools to ease the dev with #MPTCP: https://github.com/multipath-tcp/mptcp-upstream-virtme-docker
Or how to package/install the modified kernel
#introduction 👋
Hi, I'm part of the #MPTCP Linux kernel community and kernel maintainer. I'm a FOSS enthusiast, working at #Tessares (small company) in Belgium 🇧🇪 🇦🇺
I believe in Open-Source, it makes the technology accessible to everyone and it lets contributors enjoy collaborations with people from around the world!
Matt
