Mr. Queen (2020 - Viki, 20 1hr 15min episodes)

I really didn't know what to expect going into this drama. It turned out to be one of the funniest, sweetest, vicious, and intriguing dramas yet for me. It is hilarious, but I also cried! Shin Hye-sun is so good as a male chef from current times in the Joseon period - I don’t know how she did it, but it was totally believable. I did not like the King at first, but his character really grew on me. The chemistry between the leads is also great. It is such an original story I couldn't begin to guess how everything would resolve. The supporting characters were so good.

One of my favorites of all time! It has great music and beautiful costumes and scenery along with such an interesting story and superb acting.

I was in a cast up to my hip for almost two months and then needed weeks and weeks of réadaptation to be able to walk again. But he gets out of a months-long coma and can not only stand, but run and jump down a second-storey window? Wow. #KDrama #MrQueen

In an odd way, Mr Queen makes good companion viewing with Being There, because no matter what the queen says or does, the people around her project meaning onto her based on their own agendas and preconceptions.

Glad to know that I’m not the only one with binging tendencies.

I had only seen Lee Jong Suk in “Romance is a Bonus Book” before. I’m thoroughly enjoying him in this character. Depending on the ending, I can see W becoming a rewatch favorite.

And yes, the Dr. Romantic kiss was *wow*, but I loved him falling asleep at their desks holding her hand…..

Dr. Romantic: My first medical drama & I’m loving it too. Again stellar acting and I’m finding it very different in a good way from American medical dramas. (on eps 7)

Mr. Queen: Just started this one, but so many LOL moments - hilarious! Can’t wait to watch more. (on eps 3)

Mr Queen (2020, South Korea) makes good companion viewing with I Am Not An Easy Man (France, 2018). If you like one, you'll quite possibly enjoy the other.

I completed the #kdrama #MrQueen today. It took a few episodes for me to get hooked, but I really ended up loving both the Queen and the King and their relationship.

I was hoping that the man inside the Queen's head would have woken up with some questioning of his sexuality, having been in love with the King. I was a bit disappointed with that. I also wondered what the royal relationship would be like with a new personality for the Queen. The King is clueless, though? Hmm.
