Super-weird move by Microsoft:

1) silently auto-installing an extension in Edge...
2) ...to allow offline usage of Google Docs (so, helping their competitor?)...
3) ...and keeping it *deactivated* until you visit docs.google.com (so, it's just wasting space on your hard drive otherwise?)

Seriously, I can't understand the logic here.

@razumasu I've been satisfied with the built-in PDF reader in Edge, but with the recent news that it will be replaced with code from Adobe, I'm back in the market to look for an alternative again.

I really hope that there's a tick box to accept the Adobe license that I can decline to tick when Microsoft shits the bed this time.

Add #MSEdge to the long list of good things from #Microsoft that they inevitably either abandon or screw up.

TL;DR: The vertical tabs functionality in Edge is real good. Please bring it to Firefox and others (#Brave).

After spending some time over the long weekend using the vertical tabs feature in #MSEdge, I'm seriously considering increasing its frequency in my browser rotation. I was working on a complex SOHO network overhaul involving multiple moving parts, time sensitive tasks, and aiming for next-to-no-downtime during the transition. Edge's implementation of vertical tabs was quite helpful for solving problems that I didn't know that I had. It's unique, well designed, and not something that is available elsewhere.

#Firefox has been and will be my main browser until it is longer a viable option or Mozilla deviates away from its current values and ethics. And yes, I do have the Vertical Tabs Reloaded add-on installed, but It's not the same experience. At all. Edge's vertical tab grouping functionality, along with color coding, additional interface buttons, and the ability to easily disable the horizontal tab bar breathe new life into vertical tabs.

One thing I really didn't expect to happen to me in 2023 is falling in love with Microsoft Edge.
