Picked up the Flysimware Cessna 414AW Chancellor since it's on sale. Seems to be right up my alley.

This thing has a whole bunch of attention to detail that I love, for example: When you shut it down you hear the pinging sounds from the contracting metal. I'm fairly sure that's unique in #MSFS still.

Looking forward to doing a longer/proper flight in it another time.

That, I had already checked. Otherwise, to be honest, I wouldn't given up my all life hobby to go all-Linux. But I'm impressed how easy it was.

Not just that, but also both the Thrustmaster TWCS and the Virpil WarBRD are just working. I had serious doubt about these two.

Now tell me I can make DCS work half as good. I don't think DCS would be a showstopper, but still a key simulator for me.

I've released version V0.4.3 of #XCockpit to microsofts app store. XCockpit is an external cockpit app for Microsofts Flight Simulator 2020, allowing you to have live cockpit instruments on a second pc. The version is mostly a maintenance release with updated support libs. Really enjoying the updates to the Asobo 747-8 in the AAU2 Beta - for the intermediate simmer like me it's great to be able to have working VNAV so i can just chuck a route into the FMC and fly it in a stock airliner.

Kicking myself for only getting the basic version of #msfs2020 with the Asobo 787 getting what looks to be similar treatment, but not sure whether to upgrade until it's a little clearer what's happening with #msfs2024

Okay so there is a #MicrosoftFlightSimulator 2024 #MSFS announced on the Xbox Games Showcase just now and it looke awesome - looks like they are building mission and campaign modes for various real life aviation missions (S&R, Aeriel Construction, Medivac, Firefighting, VIP transport, etc)

TIL how to set up approach mode and successfully capture the localiser in the Cessna Citation Longitude, doing a happy dance!!

(Still trashed the landing though 😡 )
