Of course, being Canadian, I highlight some of the local options (think #mstdnca and @chad), the good folks at @mwadmin, and a couple other instances.

@jace Some of our family members live in #Alberta, and we enjoy checking #mstdnCA regularly.

Yesterday our family in #Edmonton showed us (via video chat) their #multimodal trail. Dad or Mom are able to take the kids to their elementary #school via #bicycle, #scooter, #skate, or simply #walk—no need to drive. It makes for a fun 15-minute #commute between home and school, with just one intersection where they have to stop and look for cars.

The entire family loves it, including being closer to nature, watching changes of the seasons, getting exercise, and simply en - #joy - ing their commute!

Yay, for #urban planners knowing how vital it is to have #infrastructure allowing people to get about by #active #transportation.

I am a Canadian two phone numbers; Koodo in Canada and Mint in the US, so I can keep my Canadian number while I live in the US

Koodo: CAD$15/mo* for 250MB. If I go over, data is paused and I can pay $13 for 100MB

Mint: US$20/mo* for 4GB. If I go over, I can still use data, just at a slower rate

It’s almost cheaper for me to roam on my US number when I am visiting home. Are there any better Canadian options?

Shaw & Freedom won’t port my number because it is linked to a city they don’t support (which feels broken for 2023)

@estolte @EllenInEdmonton viewing posts on the local Instance tab (#mstdnca in your case) can be good place to start looking, at least for local/regional people.
Akso helpful, searching hashtags of your interests, including the mstdn.ca one mentioned above,
And of course do an #introduction post that includes a few of the hashtags of your interests. These will go a long way in finding those connections.

@twblue regarding my last posting, this message I received is probably the issue. Are you able to resolve? @jfayre Its possible that TWBlue is using the Mastodonpy library, which is blocked wholesale by its default user agent string by #MSTDNCA. Suggest contacting the TWBlue developers to ask if they are using Mastodonpy, and if so, have them configure TWBlue to advertise a unique user agent string. Faced this problem with Tweesecake, and they fixed it within a week.

Ok, this is strange. Posts coming in from #MSTDNCA are streaming in via the API, but 403 happens if I perform any write requests or try to log back in via API.

@monicarooney I've got an account set up on the #mstdnca instance, but hesitant to make the transfer from mstdn.social because I am finding the mstdn.ca server is still having growing pains.

Performance issues between my two accounts on the two different servers in side by side comparison is substantial.
I'm sure it will improve, and I appreciate the "local" feed, but until it does, I'll keep both. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Can people not do the challenging work of being present, and making relationships that don't reference Twitter? So much pointless angst, when we could be recalibrating our thought processes to take advantage of a shit-free space. Grab on and dig in! #mstdnca

Is there a setting that makes all images marked as sensitive? And is that in my account settings or is it a server-wide setting? I'm on #mstdnca, if anybody there knows specifically for our server
