I’m really struggling with #MTGWOE draft so far:

- 0-3 with an admittedly sketchy BGw deck
- 2-3 with GW with not enough removal
- 1-3 with BR with lots and lots of removal

I feel like my problem so far is that I’m drafting very midrange decks without enough synergy. Often I have some Roles, some Food, a little Bargain, but the whole isn’t much more than the sum of its parts.

On the other hand, I’ve also lost games because I got run over by aggro, and because I got outclassed by giant creatures.

It could also just be bad luck in a small sample size, of course!

Or maybe I should be drafting Blue. 🤪

Anyway, whine whine.

I’m hoping to play more than this during Wilds of Eldraine. I should at least be able to make silver in limited, and hopefully will find some standard decks I enjoy.

Interesting that I’m still in the top half of (effectively) the most active players with these numbers.

First draft in Eldraine, started in red-green then got passed enough red cards to go mono-red. Turns out, mono-red is pretty good. I initially had five Redcap Thieves in my deck then swapped one out for a Grabby Giant.

Mulligan, Mulligan, Mulligan + Mana Flood (12 lands, 4 spells) didn't help.

But it was routinely smoked on card quality, too.

Looks like it could be a lo-o-ong draft format for me...

Going to seven wins on the first day is such a nice way to kick off a new set.

Am I enjoying #mtgwoe so far? Yes.

And I was thinking about how insane the math could get...

You start with 5 3/3s with trample.

When one dies, you get 6 counters (3 x 2 from primal vigor) on the other 4 so you have 4 9/9s.

If one of those 4 dies, you get 3 27/27s. Then 2 81/81s. Then 1 243/243.

Lol.

My first ever prerelease was super fun and I had 2 wins, 1 draw. Can’t be mad about that!

Had the Gruff Triplets and Primal Vigor out at multiple times, which meant triplets became quintuplets.

1-2 at #mtgwoe prerelease. I had fun, got to see my LGS's new event space, and am even more excited for drafting in Eldraine again.

Finished up 2-1 after my 3rd RB opponent in a row had mana problems 2 games in a row after some truly brutal mulligans. Sometimes variance just gets ya I guess! Good enough for prizing 😅

Now that I'm home from the #MTGWOE prerelease, before I pack these away, I'm hoping to enlist the Magic community here to help me out. I can only ever seem to go 1-3 at prerelease events, and I can only assume it's because I suck at card evaluation. So, that in mind, this is the BW Enchantments deck I played, plus all the uncommon and above cards I didn't. Was BW the right colour combo here? Any advice for next time?

2-0 now! Managed to fight through some awful mana screw to beat my RG opponent. Really scrappy games, but cheap interaction got me there over their few large creatures.

4.5 hours to #MTGWOE pre-release and I'm just finishing up the Limited Level-Ups guide to the commons and uncommons.

It sounds like a fun set - I loved the first Eldraine set from a mechanical and flavour perspective, and this seems to be living up to the original on both sides of the coin.
