Excellent workshop review on #MucosalImmunity and #SarsCoV2 #vaccines really underscores how challenging a problem mucosal vaccines are to develop, and how large the knowledge gaps are.

A useful counterpoint to the loud voices over the last couple of years that implied this was an easy problem and we should already be fielding them.

few months ago putting something up my nose seemed fine b/c i didn’t think there was anything that could trigger #mucosalImmunity

had VERY low expectations for #Novavax but it actually triggers mucosal response in my actual experience of someone who was pre-Pandemic highly susceptible to coronaviruses

Novavax reports also refer to mucosal response

HOWEVER, the KEY point is WE ALL NEED ACCESS TO AT LEAST 2 primary shots preferably 3 in order to get the ideal response & my fear is we won’t
