, aka the coast banksia, is a tree that grows along the east coast of Australia. One of the most widely distributed Banksia species.

This one however is stunted and ground dwelling for some unknown reason (to me). Maybe because of competition (plenty of gumtrees here), self-propagated or damage, not sure.

But the woody branches look healthy enough and I’d suggest it’s longevity seems assured.

Only one bloom, but that’s good enough for me!

Native to Western Australia, the is an appealing bush ground covering when in full bloom, like now.

It typically grows up to 2 metres tall; these ones are around half that height but collectively, stretches to around 12 to 13 metres in length by 3 metres width, in this public garden bed in .

Aromatic as anything. As in, sweet polliny even a few metres away, on approach.

The (Trichoglossus moluccanus);

Is a species of parrot found in Australia.

Are common along the eastern seaboard, from northern Queensland to South Australia.

Habitat is rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas.

Have been introduced to Perth, Western Australia, Tasmania, Auckland, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

There is little to visually distinguish between the sexes.

: The rainbow lorikeet is a medium-sized parrot, with the length ranging from 25 to 30 cm (9.8 to 11.8 in) including the tail, and the weight varies from 75 to 157 g (2.6–5.5 oz). The plumage is very bright and colorful. The head is deep blue with a greenish-yellow collar, and the rest of the upper parts (wings, back and tail) are green. The chest is orange/yellow. The belly is deep blue, and the thighs and rump are green. In flight a yellow wing-bar contrasts clearly with the red underwing coverts. They’re truly beautiful.
