My little girl's playmate has just told her that she's Muslim.
"What are you? Are you Muslim?"
My girl has no idea what she's talking about.

This was the kind of feeling I had growing up. My school friends went to religious class, so it's not like we didn't know. But outside of that, we felt alike. My best friend was Muslim. We sat next to each other in school for 11 years.

Then we grew apart because our worlds were so different outside that ecosystem.

La escultura fue donada a la ciudad de Madrid por el estado mexicano de Veracruz. Se trata de una réplica exacta, realizada en 2005, de una de las colosales cabezas esculpidas por la cultura precolombina Olmeca.

Reproduce la Cabeza conocida como el Rey, que debió de tallarse entre los años 1200 y 900 a. C y que se considera una de las piezas más representativas del grupo de 17 cabezas olmecas. La obra original fue encontrada en San Lorenzo Tonochtitlán, en el Estado de Veracruz. Hoy se exhibe en el Museo Nacional de Antropología e Historia de su capital, Xalapa.

La inauguración del emplazamiento definitivo de esta réplica, instalada en una de las principales glorietas del Ensanche de Vallecas, tuvo lugar el día 23 de mayo de 2007.

I feel like these right wingers operate entirely on vibes. The numbers and evidence matter very little. This is not a proposal that should be taken at face value but rather it is an outpouring of emotions: resentment, envy, disgust. She said this because she, like many people like her, resent the presence of racial minorities and queer people openly participating in public life as equals. They are envious that values such as liberalism and multiculturalism tends to dominate the culture in spite of #Republican victories rather than their preferred ideology of white christian #fascism of going back to an imagined old ways of doing things. And they are disgusted by the fact that we live in a #multicultural society where everyone gets one vote and would prefer to live in one that cleanses queer people from their sight.

Nothing #Greene says should be taken at face value. What she wants is fascism and genocide of her enemies and the power to do it. Her factual errors, her buffoonish ignorance are distractions, trolling, a way to control the conversation to be about what she wants it to be about. Her supporters know what she is really about and that is what counts. She will watch the country burn out of pure spite. That is why she and these other #Q people fixate on The Storm. You know what's a wonderful problem to have? Not really even a problem- sometimes I will be reading a post and get two or three sentences in before realizing I'm reading in a language besides English lol

That comes from my having a basic or better understanding of multiple languages, having done document localization in the past :-)
