To his credit , he doesn’t claim much more, as opposed to #samaltman
Notice how silent #Meta or #FAIR has fallen during the OpenAI hype. They do moderation and recommendation on their platforms and know the huge gaps in #LLM.
And no, #multimodality is not going to fix anything.
You just add text learning to other modes. You make it more complicated.

I work on #multimodality and #InteractionalLinguistics, particularly on #phonetics and #gesture and #conversationanalysis studying collaborative and polyphonic practices in talk in English and a bit in Spanish. I've also worked on L2 pronunciation teaching and discourse analysis.
I've recently become a fan of cycling, I do a lot of photographing on my phone and I love train travel. I believe in the value of community and authenticity.
