It really feels good when I get the opportunity to put the expertise I've developed through my random #MultiPod interests to use.

A friend of mine recently moved into a house with a solar powered backup electrical system, and he told me I've been more helpful in figuring out how his system works than the electrician he called.

One thing I wrestled with as a #MultiPod was similar to this: that a meaningful and "successful" life meant choosing and devoting yourself to a single passion. And if you didn't have that, something was wrong with you.

We hear all these romantic ideas of successful people devoting their lives to noble causes, like that's the only way to live. But... just doing and being what makes you happy is enough.

For the multipotentialites and polymaths that follow me, I want to recommend @arcadiapage's book, I Want To Do All The Things.

It's a quick read, but there's some real gems in there about finding an ideal balance of projects and finding your voice as a blogger with so many varied interests.

"What is a #MultiPod anyway?"nobody asked.

Well, nobody, I'll tell you.

It's short for multipotentialite, which is a term coined by Emilie Wapnick. Barbara Sher calls us "scanners". Another term is "renaissance person".

Basically, it's someone who thrives on many interests, projects and passions, simultaneously, cyclically or one after another.

Someone who feels trapped or anxious about just choosing ONE THING.

I'm pushing 40 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Being on social media again is both awesome and awful for my #multipod-ness.

So many cool and interesting things to dig into, and reminders to resume old hobbies, but so little time to do it all. I feel so inspired but where do I even start?!

Being a #multipod, I always find #introduction posts SO difficult! I write code for money, then use that money to live my best life. I don't like calling myself a software engineer; I loathe the idea of defining myself by my work.

I'm a #DigitalNomad - my wife and I live in an #RV and #travel around North America full-time. My interests change with the wind but generally include #writing, #personaldevelopment, and #selfsufficiency. I'm here to make meaningful and authentic connections.
