On Friday we said our final goodbye to Mum 💔
Through the last 20 years she had 10 cancer diagnosis, she never complained, never looked for sympathy or loaded her troubles onto anyone. She was always smiling, positive and continued to live her life. Most people would not have known how poorly she had been at times. She has been inspiration and I will miss her enormously.
I will take a leaf out of Mum's book and live life with a smile, courage, strength, love and happiness ❤️

Just thought I'd pop in.
I've dipped into a little bit of depression just lately.
I feel physically and mentally and emotionally 'burnt out'.
My kid* is on holiday, alone, in the US.
They're perfectly safe and fine and happy, but I think that the stress of that has just broken me, pushed me over the edge.
I'm listening to Matt Haig's "The Comfort Book", as I'd heard it was good, but it's not helping!
* they're 23.

For all that she’s endured in what has not been an easy life, she has always been there for us kids and others she has supported along the way. She has taught me to never stop striving to heal from the past and grow as a person; to look for the best in people; to be courageous in standing up for those who have been beaten down. She has unselfishly devoted her life to raising first me, my brother and sister, and now my littlest sister. She spends countless hours every week helping others.
Now she needs help, and the public system has let her down. She is now relying on people power - the generosity of friends, family and strangers - to give her a second chance at life. We would be so grateful if you would consider donating 💖

Unexpectedly - most and completely unexpectedly - I am back at Launceston airport because my mum is dying fast. Total heart block (electrical system not working to stimulate heartbeat) and renal failure. She's non-responsive and poorly oxygenated, deteriorating quite rapidly.
This morning I was told she was being stabilised with a hope to put in a pacemaker, but it was very serious. A few hours later it became the resus limits and comfort care talk. She probably won't live through the night.
I'll be quiet for a while on socials, and may be odd in my responses for a bit. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
While I respect those of you with personal deities, please do not tell me you are "praying" for myself or my mother about this - because as an atheist I don't have the energy to wade through posts of that kind.
Hubs is keeping the home fires burning with Cully, and I think I'll be back before the end of next week. If you are in the Meander area and have biscuits please drop by. Both my gorgeous guys love biscuits and good company.

The other night, my gorgeous mother took ill. I thought she was leaving us. Helpless, I wrote a poem; what else could I do?
