Discovered the hard way today on my walk from #Picadilly to #TheEtihad that my once-favourite socks had worn a hole in them.
The walk back to the station after the match confirmed this. As did the massive #blister on the ball of my foot.
Ironically, the socks feature #TheScream by Edvard #Munch.

Munch got so pissed off, he went to the director's office, threw the brushes on the table and never returned. so only a couple of paintings got additional details and the rest are in the original state, just like the artist wanted 😌 2/2

and now compare these two, Young people on the beach and Four girls in Åsgårdstrand. as the guide said, "there's one eye for four people" in the first one 😁 the workers didn't like the paintings too much and the director asked #Munch to add some detail, to make it a bit more realistic. for some reason Munch agreed to come to the factory and paint a bit more, but on one condition: a driver will always pick him up and will wait outside until he's done. 1/2

funny story about this one, Four girls in Åsgårdstrand. #Munch didn't pay the little models but he said that they can go to his studio and pick a painting (!) as a payment. the girls' mama didn't want his strange doodles hanging in her home and asked the girls to thank the painter and politely refuse the offer. they did so and even got some ice cream! some decades later the girls visited the factory on an anniversary celebration and everyone agreed that that was a dumb move 😁 #art #oslo #norway

or even better, imagine having 12 of those paintings hanging around your enormous cafeteria! the factory commissioned the #art to improve working conditions for employees in 1922, and #Munch himself placed all the paintings as a frieze in this room. this collection is now known as Freia frieze, by the name of the chocolate factory Freia #oslo #norway
