Her #Father was a #Fruit #Farmer, & she called him "the #Orchardist" in her #Writing.

A self-described #Hoosier #Farmwife, Rachel's #Byline was "Mrs. RFD" (for "Rural Free Delivery"). Her columns in The #Indianapolis Star & The #Muncie Evening News charmed readers with stories about #Nature & #Farm #Life.

She wrote:

I made a #map called “Weird & Wonderful” for #Muncie. We released it in August and it highlights the places that make our city unique. It sells reasonably well. But last week, someone ordered a gigantic mounted version, and here I am, holding it for a picture.

I had so much fun making this map a few months ago, highlighting the weird and wonderful places that make #Muncie unique. Features include everything from informal place names and odd landmarks to public art and venues to historic buildings and neighborhoods to tattoo parlors and sex shops. I crowdsourced some of the spots via MMC’s social media and his data is absolutely *begging* to have an interactive built of it… maybe after MMC’s holiday rush is put to bed for 2022. 🤷‍♂️
