Looking across Loch Glascarnoch to Beinn Dearg the other day.

With the heather out in glorious purple it feels like summer is progressing rapidly. But I've not been out up a hill for a few weeks due to various things combined with the wet and thundery weather. Have maps printed ready and waiting for a vaguely suitable day, I may have to just go for it getting wet and midged for my 'type 2 fun'.

Then it was on to the second #munro of the day, An Sgarsoch, with grouse and ptarmigan for company. Before the loooooooong return journey (including three river crossings) to #linnofdee and the two hour drive home! #munrobagging

A Bluebird day with perfect Alpine conditions out on the #Cairngorms today. Up on the high tops at #Munro height with great views of #CairnToul, #AngelsPeak #Braeriach, and even #Lochnagar in the distance but holy guacamole I had to put in some graft; climbing through thigh deep snow zaps every ounce of energy and you can forget about being able to see/follow any paths!
Probably best that my other half gave today a miss as she’d not have thanked me for dragging her through that depth of snow ❄️🥾🏔️
