Please read the short story by Haruki Murakami titled TV People. It’s based on the psychological condition known as night paralysis, which inordinately affects Japanese people. Waking up at night, paralysed, unable to move, yet subjected to unimaginable horrors.

I am starting a book that i had been reading years ago. Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

"Without wind to move the branches, the shadows looked like permanent stains, destined to remain imprinted on the pavement forever."

This time around, I find I have a better appreciation of the book having been to Japan.
