Murals were commissioned from a white #artist to commemorate the role of the Underground Railroad in resisting #slavery. Some members of later generations have complained of stereotyping. Law forbids destruction or mutilation of an artist's work. New ruling holds that covering them does not violate this principle.

Wanted to share an incredible piece of #publicArt that shaped my life – Ben Shahn's "The Passion of Sacco and Vanzetti". This remarkable #mosaic is on an outer wall of H.B. Crouse Hall at #SyracuseUniversity in #SyracuseNY. Sacco and Vanzetti were executed for murder on the flimsiest of evidence in 1927. I walked past this reminder of injustice every day for years.

This warehouse office space has been transformed by the talented and may I say accomplished artist Melanie Caple, with a stunning mural, including #flora and #birdlife.
This beauty measures 12 x 6.5 metres in size and is just amazing!
Melanie says in her Insta post; “I used colour and composition to enhance this warehouse office space.
It was a pleasure creating this mural… featuring #botanicals and #bird life of the [#Victorian] south eastern coast”.

My mind is still halfway in Łódź. Besides the interesting transformation of former industrial buildings, I was particularly captivated by the 82 large-scale murals, "Łódzkie Murale", which characterize the cityscape.
