I was a little sceptical about reading Martha Wells' Murderbot Diaries - it didn't sound like something I'd be into - but glad I have. I've just read the first three (they're all quite quick reads) and just starting on the fourth, Exit Strategy.

The magic ingredient is how endearing the character of SecUnit/Murderbot actually is (and the other sentient non-humans, really).

Martha Wells is also EXCEPTIONALLY good at writing action.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the #MurderbotDiaries by @marthawells which I picked up in #audiobook / #recordedbook format via #HumbleBundle. The murderbot thinking sarcastically "This is my surprised face" is a personal favorite fantastically-delivered line by the narrator Kevin R. Free.

Just found book 5 & 6 from @marthawells #murderbotDiaries book series on audiobook. Digging in today.

I saw that a local bookshop had Fugitive Telemetry by @marthawells and let me tell you I have never spent money that fast.

Can't wait to read another Murderbot book.

I really love the Murderbot Diaries series--like Murderbot itself, I reread for comfort in these stressful times. I also like audiobooks--I walk a lot, and they're good in the bath, too. I heard that the audiobooks of the series are good, so I tried one a few months ago. Returned it after 10 minutes of listening. It was just...flat. Dull. This may be a bit cruel, but true: the narrator was no better than text-to-voice.

The #MurderbotDiaries by Martha Wells @marthawells is a hugely entertaining book series about a rogue Security unit - humorous, droll at times full of wonderfully wry observations about people and robots and things that are a bit of both & some science fiction. If you can find the audiobooks narrated by Kevin R Free even better - Kevin manages to wring every bit of wry humour from the Martha”s text. I am sad I have nearly finished the series. Martha - more Murderbot please.

These days for quick reads I like recommending #EarthSea (fantasy), #MurderbotDiaries (sci-fi by @marthawells), #Piranesi (magical realism of sorts but not really?)

I don't know what you've read before but let me know if you wanna read some chunky books too 😊😊 I like finishing short ones to give me that motivation boost
