On #museumShips, going back to Buffalo this week.
Did you know you can get a guided tour of the missile control systems?
Both cool *and* writing relevant!
I really do have a research plan (well kinda), but you know, you get going along and run across interesting things. This week I learned the Constellation which is a wooden all sail ship (the last built in the US), was on active duty in WORLD WAR II. She was built in 1854 but served first as Admiral King's alternative flag, then Read Admiral Ingersoll's actual flagship in 1942.

#Battleships #MuseumShips USS Texas BB-35 is currently in a floating drydock in Galveston, TX. The Battleship Texas Foundation has organized Sunday tours while in drydock. So yeah, my giving Tuesday was signing up to go walk around and under a 110+year old giant battle wagon.
This is the kind of museum case I loveā¦

I was visiting the USS Constellation in Baltimore's Inner Harbor once upon a time. The on board displays were sparse but one mentioned the Constellation spent most of the Civil War sailing around the Med. I thought, that sucks, to miss out on the action. From there and subsequent other ship visits I fell down the rabbit hole of Deck Logs. I now have a patreon about my research. patreon.com/user?u=83326613
