This is ChucK, a "Strongly-timed, Concurrent, and On-the-fly
Music Programming Language" - since 2002 actually.

I only learned about it this morning. On Macs it installs all the way from 10.5. to 10.8. and 10.9. to recent OSX versions. Linux/Windows avail. too.

Comes with an extensive function library & seems very quick/powerful for live performances & timed compositions.
