I’m looking for suggestions for a hashtag to follow here where folks share info on forgotten artists from the 50’s to 70’s - could be one hit wonders but more likely folks who maybe got some traction but never made it big. With all that’s available to us in streaming I’d like to find some more obscure artists to appreciate.

Lately I have been working on finally ripping my CD collection to lossless files, namely FLAC. It's about 2000 discs. I started three weeks ago; I'm only up to Miles Davis and already killed one drive.

One striking thing is the failure rate of older CD-Rs. Discs burned in the late '90s and early '00s are failing about 40% of the time. No brand of disc was spared. Bottom line: if you have old CD-Rs laying around, rip them now while you still can!
