Spotlight On producer and editor @qburns and host @lawrenceperyer constantly communicate throughout the research and production of each episode, but they rarely actually speak in person. So when Michael suggested they spend time catching up to discuss some topics of shared interest, the pair decided to press ‘record’ and share their discussion with listeners.

The two had a freewheeling and sprawling talk, filled equally with opinions and laughter. Topics include: how younger music fans shy away from genres, the SAG-AFTRA + Writers Guild of America West strikes, the danger AI poses to the creative arts (or not), and how to think about curation in 2023. There are also lighter subjects, like the unavoidable Barbenheimer, how Seattle, Washington, has the most 'real life superheroes,' and the foundational influence of radio.

Any fellow #thebeatles fans on #Fediverse may be interested in this. My Uncle Monty (Lister) was a local radio dj, first hospital radio, then BBC. He recorded this interview with them in Oct 62. Ringo's first gig with them. Uncle Mont sold the rights for pennies in the 90's unfortunately, but this was recorded by me and Uncle Mont from original tape & recorder.
