Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out
Video from 1982. Super positive vibes!
Published on the British musician's fifth studio album "Night and Day". (The title Night and Day refers to a Jazz standard by Cole Porter.)

Captain Sensible - Wot
Captain Sensible, former member of the punk band "Damned", released this very funny song and video in 1983

@edwardchampion Does this one fit in? Still quite "punky" in feeling, but quite accomplished and a decently produced sound.
The Sound - I Can't Escape Myself
Released in 1980 on their debut album "Jeopardy"

Talk Talk - Living In Another World
Live in Salamanca, Spain in 1986. Talk Talk had released their album "The Colour of Spring" and went on live tour.
This concert took place on the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, a beautiful central place in the center of the city from 1724. And I was in the audience on this warm summer night as a young student.

With 'Have in mind?' and 'Pop goes the world', 'Radio wave' is one of the selected songs of the 80s that no matter what, it puts me in a very good mood.

Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven (Official video)
From their album "Doolittle" (released in 1989)
You can never have too much Pixies in your timeline. What a powerful mix.

Pixies - Hey
Another great tune by this band from Boston.
Published on their second album "Doolittle" in 1989. Fun fact: Kurt Cobain, singer of Nirvana, was a big fan of the Pixies.

The Weathermen - Poison!
Not sure if this is classified as EBM (Electronic Body Music).
The available info on this band is very little and sometimes contradictory. They seem to be of Belgian origin, but not sure. This tune was released in 1987, i had this on vinyl.

Grace Jones - Walking in the Rain (Live)
Another fine cover version. The original was written by the Australian band "Flash and the Pan". Grace Jones published this track on her album "Nightclubbing" in 1981. I have no idea where this live performance took place.

Laurie Anderson - Sharkey's Day
From her excellent second studio album "Mr. Heartbreak", released in 1984. She had lots of collaborators on this record, among them William S. Borroughs (whose speaking voice can be heard in the last song), Peter Gabriel, Nile Rogers and Bill Laswell. At that time this record (vinyl) was a masterpiece of sound production.

Tom Waits - Clap Hands
Released on his album "Rain Dogs" in 1985.
The video is not official, but produced by a fan and I like it.
I always regarded his albums "Swordfishtrombones", "Rain Dogs" and "Frank's Wild Years" as some kind of meta music, music that is telling us something about music.

David Sylvian - Orpheus
This tune was released in 1987 on the wonderful solo album "Secrets of the Beehive" by David Sylvian, former singer of Japan. Ryuchi Sakamoto plays the synth and piano in this tune.

The Cure - A Forest (acoustic version)
This tune was published for the first time on the album "Seventeen seconds" in 1980. I actually prefer this version. although the album version is excellent, too.i bought this vinyl record the same day it was available.

Taco - Puttin' on the Ritz
The title was written by jazz composer Irving Berlin in 1927 (He also wrote, among many other jazz standards, "White Christmas", performed by Bing Crosby).
This nice cover version was released in 1982

Pere Ubu - 30 Seconds Over Tokyo
I bought this tune on a maxi single but I sold nearly all my vinyl records with a few exceptions. Pere Ubu is weird, but brilliant. They formed in Akron, Ohio, the same city Devo came from. in the U.S. Wikipedia is vague about the year of publication.

Tom Waits - It's more than rain
This song was released on the album 'Franks Wild Years' in 1987.
I really like his music, especially from this period. The band sounds like a vaudeville act that had a beer too much, but that fits perfectly.
