I'm Rachel! I'm a full-time academic advisor, full-time social work student, and part-time music journalist.

I've written for many top Americana-focused publications like No Depression, The Boot, Wide Open Country, and The Nashville Scene.

#Beatsworkingforaliving is an amazing book and #MartinLilleker was a brilliant #musicjournalist for many years for the #SheffieldTelegraph. He championed so many new Sheffield groups and was always full of positivity. His column was a go to every week.

This book only goes up to the 80s but I think he had plans to do a next volume up to the 90s and then very sadly died a few years back.

hello new people from tumblr! here's an #introduction post! i'm a #composer and #lyricist (and #librettist and #playwright sometimes too) with a foot in both #ClassicalMusic and #MusicTheatre / #MusicTheater / #opera. i used to be a pretty active #bassoon player, but it's been a while since i've picked up my instrument (tho hopefully that will change next year!) i'm pretty fond of #puns, and a lot of my work focuses on #queer / #LGBTQ issues and #Judaism
