I love my . @quodlibet is perfect for maintaining a large collection imho. I constantly tweak , normalize filenames, adjust replay gain, etc. and listen to exactly the music I want. For example, sometimes I feel like with , no problem. Sometimes I want , done. 😜 I might make a video about my setup in the near future simply because I enjoy it so much. ☺️ In the meantime, what do you prefer, local or for ?

Yet another massive example on how to extend the power of with !

This time, we provide a search and replace tool for metadata fields.

For example when your CEO spontaneously decides to change the company name from "Amazing Inc." to the boring (sic!) but new name "Xyz Inc.", and you must replace the Copyright text in all photos immediately.
This can't simply be done by just overwriting that field in all files with the XMP Editor in the Inspector of NeoFinder, as the Copyright string may be very different for each file, like "Copyright by Amazing Inc. 2021" or "© Amazing Inc. All Rights Reserved" or such.

A little more than a week ago I cancelled my Spotify subscription and went back to building up my own music library.

No need for DRM to listen to my music, so I can listen how/where/when I want.
No one can suddenly remove songs I'm used to listen to.
For the money I usually spend on Spotify, I can now instead buy an album every month, to add to my music library.
And I think/hope the artists gets a bigger cut of the money I spend on music.

8.4 has improved the Find Duplicates options by allowing you to search for file names ignoring their suffixes, which would consider files named "IMG_1234.NEF" to be identical to a file named "IMG_1234.JPG", for example.

And yes, we do also have in our software, but once we notice them, we fix them.

Here is a bug that was fixed in 8.4: You can search for Annotations, and it now will work for two or more Annotation parameters as well.

Dragging an offline file from into another application will now paste the thumbnail into the destination.

Previously, it was only possible to drop an online file into another Application, but now, NeoFinder will already provide the thumbnail for offline files...

adds more possible fields that the Icon View can show!

The long list now includes the Image ID, ID3 Composer, ID3 Genre, and BPM fields.

You select these in the View Settings. And of course, these can now also be sorted, as you would have expected.

One of the hidden gems of getting music via peer sharing is that people actually USE the lesser like mood, bpm, keywords... all useful & interesting. But THEN sometimes you have to dig thru your cuz you discover someone has tagged a file with "occasion: music", and now you're irrationally angry.

The Inspector in has a new label menu for the ID3 audio Composer field with options to quickly find all songs written by that composer in your NeoFinder LIBRARY and on Bandcamp.
