Involved in a myriad of music projects, including the acclaimed Peace Flag Ensemble, Dawson has just released his third solo album, Find Yourself Lost. The album spaciously mixes ambient and experimental production with traditional country music instrumentation. Dawson speaks with host Lawrence Peryer about the genesis of this album, his approach to music creation, and how the new album draws heavily upon his impressions of the town where he grew up.

Spotlight On is a music-geared podcast hosted by music industry vet @lawrenceperyer and produced by @qburns. The show features conversations with musicians, authors, songwriters, music industry folks, history-makers, and other fascinating people deeply involved in this beautiful thing called music.
The podcast is weekly and recently started its ninth season. 💥
The music we're interested in goes all over the place, but we lean toward guests working in variations of #jazz, #IndieMusic, #ElectronicMusic, #WorldMusic, and even notable #ClassicRock figures. We had Nick Mason of Pink Floyd on recently (!), for example. But, yes — anyone pushing musical boundaries and making the world better by making art is someone on our radar.

This time I'm posting "Song to the Siren" by Sinead O'Connor. Now I chose this version for one reason, and that is that it's my favorite.
Tim Buckley was the first, and wrote this song I believe. While This Mortal Coil's cover is the most well known version. Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins sang on the This Mortal Coil song and I recommend giving that a listen to also.
