With the whole #muskopalypse thing, you would hope that FOSS becomes a more normative part of left wing discourse. It just seems hard to explain to busy people why they dont actually own their tech or their platforms, and it seems to just leave them feeling dismayed and disempowered

I get what you are saying, and you are right: we should keep religious notions out, however, as the debate goes right now one easily gets the impression of "#Muskopalypse" and "#Twexodus" express the emotions of the debate, with "Satan" (Musk) on one side and those who are looking for a new home on the other.

#Twexit might not be a bad choice. #TwitterEmigration and #MastodonImmigration are of course pretty neutral. We shall see what Hashtag people will turn to.
