So they're driving a statue of Elon Musk as a cryptocurrency goat on a rocket through Austin, he's backing Ron DeSantis and his pinned tweet says woke mind virus will end humanity.

It's all going to get a lot creepier before it gets better, probably ending with the implosion of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX.

All that is to say I'm very glad to be here, and hope everyone else shows up too.

#musktotusk ettiquette thoughts. I'd been thinking about this for a while, but @MiraAssafK 's latest post about self-censoring in response to a Tedious Reply which positions both venting about and agitating against injustice as uncivil, warning-worthy, and/or a specific cultural produt of the bird site kind of crystalised it.

There's the macro culture problem pertaining to the White People (mostly white, all people) doing the norm-enforcing.

It's looking to me like there's also a problem of speed and critical mass. And thence, *my* engagement patterns, honed on twitter & tumblr, are not helping.

1. Speed: things take a long time to federate between servers. I think there's even a bit of a lag between me posting on @hcommons and my own post showing up in my feed; the lag is much slower for @highly_reckons showing up here.
