This week I've mainly been reading (no.22)
Have just spent two days reading Ayisha Malik's political satire/parable of a social moment of silence, The Movement (2022). Its a fabulously compelling #feminist novel of #politics & relationships that manages to be profound without being preachy. I usually find 'political' novels a little uneven (when the politics gets in way of the narrative dynamic), but not here; this is sure-footed. plausible, invigorating & a treat to read

@Rob_Bieber Oh, please. I work as a teacher for kids with special needs. Kids with #Autism, #Mutism, #Asperger etc. If there's any #Ableism in this mess it's the lockdowns and restrictions completely ignoring these children and their needs. The past two years I have seen so many of them falling into deep depressions and worse. As you say, time will make this evident. How have the restrictions hit vulnerable groups as children, women, the poor, the elderly and the disabled?..
