Bevölkerungs-#Warnung wegen F3 in #Leverkusen kam per #Sirene und Cell Broadcast im Netz der #DTAG jedoch nicht im Netz von #O2 Telefonica / #ePlus KPN bzw. #MVNO|s die dieses nutzen.

Ich denke mal @bsi sollte da mal freundlich nachfragen warum...

Vorallem da Cell Broadcast selbst auf #StupidPhones zuverlässig funktioniert.

@dsfgs @torproject it's by the #MVNO, and they do it very ugly by not negotiating a lower #LinkRate (which would make sense given the actual claims why they trottle people down) but just limiting packet rate and dropping shit that would exceed the bandwith.

Resulting in #SlowStart issues...

But this seems almost like connections get reset.

I expetience some strange behaviour with @torproject #TorBrowser on a (throttled) mobile connection:

Neither bridges (obfs4, meek-azure nor snowflake) nor without with get some.stable.connection and just contantly have circuits dying before it can even load the homepage to show it's connected.

Is it just me or do #MVNO's using #CGNAT on #RFC1918 adress spaces also try to prevent and block #Tor useage?

My experiences dealing with mobile phone networks as I transition from the US to Finland has me thinking about MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators). Probably the best known is Mint Mobile thanks to Ryan Reynolds.

So, how hard is it to set up an #MVNO?

By the looks of thing it’s probably a lot easier and cheaper than becoming a registered Nintendo developer.

Ireland's first MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) launched in 2000. Called Imag!ne, it bought airtime in bulk from Eircell (now @VodafoneIrl). The parties ended up in court and the arrangement ceased in 2001, just after Meteor opened for business.
