@jbzfn @omglinux I just switched an old 32 bit Toshiba laptop from #MXLinux Fluxbox 21 to 23. Under 21 I had a problem with the sound chip muting on reboot. With the switch to Pipewire, this problem is fixed.

On another laptop I was on MX Linux 19, skipped 21 and did a clean install of 23....nice!!!!

Nem 24 horas que voltei pro Linux e já começou a crise de troca de distro. Indo de #MXLinux e aceitando sugestões.

Question of the day: Should I upgrade #mxlinux from 21 to 23? Or just keep it as it is for now? (too lazy to set it up again... I'd really wish it was a rolling release 😢)

+1 to my #distrohop history and _yes_ I did say I would stay on #Fedora Kinoite for some time but my blood runs Debian :P

So, this is my distrohop chain

#MXLinux -> #Manjaro -> #GarudaLinux -> #EndeavourOS -> Fedora -> Fedora #Kinoite -> #Devuan (?)

I also just can't help wanting #KDE #Plasma6 because it has _so_ many things I want/need. I will probably distrohop again once Plasma 6 is released, but we'll see.

P.S: I'd stay with MX my whole life time if it had a proper updating solution.

@Linux_Is_Best yep, it’s a wonderful distro that “just works”. I mean, #PuppyLinux is really the tool for me if nothing else works, but I only use that to fix issues and put (usually) #MXLinux onto the device.

Frage mich gerade, was für ein Linux wohl für einen halbwegs modernen Convertible-Laptop geeignet wäre?
Ubuntu ist mir inzwischen zu "kommerzverseucht", Redhat schlägt wohl den gleichen Weg ein....
Debian ist mir zu "basic", aber damit komme ich seit Jahren hervorragend auf meinen Servern / VMs klar. Also wirds wohl für den Anfang mal ein MX-Linux in der KDE/LHS Variante werden.
Früher (<2010) hatte ich längere Zeit Fedora als Desktop, war auch gut.

Habe mir Heute ein Lenovo Yoga Laptop beschafft, um darauf Linux zu installieren. Das wäre dann nach 14 Jahren MacOS wieder ein Versuch mit Linux als Desktop.

Windows needs time after boot and launch to actually even function. No, don't expect Outlook to start now, when you execute it, oh heavens no. It's got threads to complete over here to make sure Bing can hijack the default search and teams is launched for you to kill it before, pfft, those actual programs you use

Going back to MX linux as debian seems to have package compatability issues with my downstream ubuntu stuffs.

During switching back I noted that the install was conciderable quicker and easier than debian ^w^
