So my mstdn.chrisalemany.ca #selfhost was down all day because the power went out this morning… it was planned but I forgot… and then it took awhile for the Internet to return… then I had to move the footiMac from the desk to the closet… then nothing worked… then I fixed it… then I had to do the kitty litter because it’s #caturday and it’s also in the network closet…. Then…. it was already 2:30PM and everything was back online.

It’s so satisfying reading #Toots for curiosity and education. I love that #MyMastodon is not polluted by angry politics. I haven’t deleted Twitter yet, but I can feel a large emotional and stress difference when using one vs the other. I love all the #intelligence and #thoughtfulness. #Grateful.

So, dltq.org is hosted by Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland. The monthly cost for the server itself is 8.81 Euros plus usage. The total monthly cost I will know after the first month. I will monitor what is cost driving activities here (posting videos, connecting with a ton of people from around the world etc), and I will also share my experiences here to my network. #mymastodon will be my hashtag, you can filter it all out if you want :)
